DENIS
RICHTER
is the new Executive Assistant Manager at the Mövenpick
Hotel Bur Dubai. He most recently served in the same position
for the Amari Watergate Hotel in Bangkok. Richter brings twelve
years of hospitality experience to his new position. He started
his career with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and set sail to
destinations in the United States and Europe, where he joined
Hilton International. The International restaurant business
opened the way to a unique opportunity in the Philippines where
he successfully participated in the launch and opening of the
‘Subic Bay Yacht Club." Richter is a graduate from
Hotel Management School in Austria.
MIGUEL
MARTIN
has joined the Antlers Hotel in Colorado Springs as Food and
Beverage Director and ANNE PRATT
is the new Director of Catering. Martin has twenty years experience
and most recently worked for Specialty Restaurants Corporation
in Denver. Pratt, a hospitality and catering veteran, previously
worked at the hotel from 1990 to 1999 in several positions including
Director of Restaurants and Director of Catering. She also worked
at several other hotels in Colorado Springs and brings a full-range
of experience and local perspective to the position.
PHILIPPE
SIZARET has been named General Manager of the Te Tiare
Beach, an Outrigger Resort on Huahine Island in French Polynesia.
Sizaret is a veteran hotelier of the area, most recently serving
as General Manager of the Maitai Polynesia in Bora Bora. For
the last twenty years, he has held various management positions
throughout Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Thailand, Malaysia and
New Caledonia. Sizaret, born and educated in France, speaks
French, English and German, will assume his position on July
1.
ANTHONY
KHOO
is the new Vice President of Marketing for Raffles International
Hotels & Resorts Most recently Mr. Khoo was Assistant Director,
Tourism Culture at the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) where he
was instrumental in the conceptualization and implementation
of the Singapore “Live It Up” domestic tourism program
and the Art of Service for improving tourism service standards.
He also served as Assistant Director, Exhibitions at STB. Mr.
Khoo holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor
of Science from the University of Southern California.
JEFFREY
BROWER has joined the L’Auberge de Sedona, one
of Arizona’s famed hideaways, as General Manager. Brower
has more than fourteen years of hospitality experience including
eight years of management with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
Prior to his appointment, Brower served as Executive Assistant
Manager, Rooms Division at the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota. In addition
to his years with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Brower also
held positions with the Hotel Nikko at Beverly Hills and several
Hyatt Hotels in California. Brower graduated from the Rochester
Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Arts in Hotel/Resort
Administration. He also has a designation from the American
Hotel and Lodging Association as a Certified Rooms Division
Executive.
NEW
SPACES
The
INTERCONTINENTAL HELIPOLIS CAIRO is ready to
open. The 792-room hotel is part of a US$600-million development
combining shopping, entertainment, office and residential facilities
in the heart of the city. Only seven minutes from Cairo International
Airport and just five minutes from the Cairo International Conference
Centre, the hotel offers 18 versatile function rooms including
the largest banquet hall in Cairo, with a maximum capacity of
2200 persons in a reception setting and a variety of recreational
facilities that include the 3000-square-metre Spa and Wellness
Center, squash and tennis courts, a pool and a 24-hour casino.
There is access to 470 shops, an exhibition centre, 16 cinemas
and a family entertainment centre.
The
$850 million BOSTON CONVENTION & EXHIBITION CENTER
opened its doors last week, offering 500,000 square feet of
contiguous exhibition space, 160,000 square feet of meeting
space, 86 meeting rooms and a 41,000-square-foot ballroom. The
South Boston Waterfront center opens less than one week after
construction began on the $200 million headquarters hotel, a
790-room Westin directly adjacent to the center, expected to
open in summer 2006.

SECORD Senior Sales Manager at the Mayflower Park Hotel
in Seattle, Washington received the Associate Member of the
Year award from the Washington Society of Association Executive.

by Fast Track, a research company that tracks Britain’s
most dynamic unquoted companies and entrepreneurs. Dr Hamish
Stevenson, owner of Fast Track, said: “We were impressed
