SHIRK has been named as the Director of Sales and Marketing
for the Fredericksburg Inn & Suites in Fredericksburg, TX
which is managed by Hospitality Management Corporation (HMC).
In her new role, Shirk will be responsible for leading the sales,
marketing, revenue merchandising and catering teams. With more
than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Shirk’s
credentials include a diverse background in hotel sales, marketing
and operational experience at resorts and tourist destinations.
DOUG
KING has been appointed General Manager of Dusit Dubai.
Prior to this, he held the same position at Hotel Istana in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mr. King or Doug to the Dusit team,
has had 14 years experience managing flagship resorts and city
properties with the world’s top hotel chains such as The
Wyndham Hotel in the USA and Hilton International Asia Pacific
region.
CHRIS
GOBLIRSCH has been promoted to Director of Information
Technology for Benchmark Hospitality, the international hospitality
management company. Prior to this Goblirsch was System Support
Manager at Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center, Benchmark's
newly renovated property located in Scottsdale, Arizona. A seasoned
professional, Goblirsch brings nearly 15 years of IT expertise
to his new role. Previously he was a consultant for Tek Systems
of Phoenix, servicing Bank of America, the Credit Card Group
and was employed by Sylvan Prometric. Goblirsch served in the
United States Military during the 1980s and 1990s and is a veteran
of Operation Desert Storm.
ROLAND
FASEL
will lead the InterContinental London team of 320 through its
renovation and repositioning. For the last four years Fasel
served as the Managing Director for Badrutt’s Palace Hotel,
Saint Moritz where, under his management, the property was presented
with a series of coveted industry awards including the Five
Star Diamond Award. Fasel began his career in 1985 at the Four
Seasons Hotel, Newport Beach and Boston and then held various
senior food and beverage managerial positions with the Hotel
Bel Air, Los Angeles; the Regent Hotel, Bangkok; and from 1994
as part of the Shangri-La group of hotels in Singapore, Malaysia
and Jakarta. A Swiss national, Fasel is married with two children
and is fluent in English, German and French. He graduated in
Hotel Management from the Ecole Hôtelière, Lausanne,
Switzerland in 1984 and in 1997 with a Masters of Business Administration
from the Golden Gate University, San Francisco.

KOEHLER has been appointed General Manager of Grand
Hyatt Beijing. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America
in New York, he honed his culinary skills in New York, Maui
and Pusan. Koehler joined the Hyatt Regency Manila as executive
chef in 1988 and went on to serve as Executive Chef and Director
of Food and Beverage in Taipei. He was appointed Executive Assistant
Manager - Food and Beverage of Hyatt Regency Osaka in 1994 and
in 1998 was transferred to Grand Hyatt Shanghai. Promoted to
