FREDERIC
A. "RIC" NICHOLSON
has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for The Adolphus,
effective immediately. He will be responsible for all aspects
of room sales, including marketing and advertising strategies
for the property. Mr. Nicholson will oversee the hotel's six
sales managers and the production of key business segments.
The appointment was announced by Tom E. Garcia, Managing Director
of The Adolphus.  |
Accor
Asia Pacific has announce the appointment of Mr. KRIPA
SHANKAR as Regional General Manager for the Greater
Jakarta area and Sumatra in Indonesia. Kripa began his career
with Accor 15 years ago with the Sofitel Cecil in Egypt and
held a variety of positions. He then moved to Israel where
he served as Area Director Jerusalem & Dead Sea before
relocating to China in 2002. He was most recently General
Manager of the Sofitel Jin Jiang Oriental Pudong Shanghai.  |
ROBYN
ROJEK
has been promoted to the position of Director of Sales for
the new Hilton Garden Inn in Albany, Georgia. The hotel, which
will be the largest conference and catering facility of its
kind in Albany, is schedule to open in the spring of 2005.
Ms. Rojek was formerly Sales Manager at the Emory Conference
Center Hotel in Atlanta, GA. Both hotels are managed by Crestline
Hotels and Resorts. Ms. Rojek is a graduate of Georgia Southern
University and joined the company in 2000 as a Conference
Planning intern and was subsequently promoted to Assistant
Conference Planning Manager, Conference Planning Manager,
and in 2002 to Sales Manager. In 2002 she was awarded "Sales
Person of the Year" by Crestline. |
CRAIG
HILLYARD
has been appointed General Manager for the Crowne Plaza Ravinia
in Atlanta, Georgia which is now managed by Crestline Hotels
and Resorts. Mr. Hillyard is a senior executive with over
twenty years of hospitality experience and holds a Bachelor
of Science degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg,
Virginia, where he graduated at the top of his class with
a degree in Hotel Administration. He has been with Crestline
Hotels & Resorts since 2000 as the General Manager of
the Atlanta Marriott Gwinnett Place. Prior to that he was
General Manager for the Westin Atlanta North and the Sheraton
Colony Square Hotel, both located in Atlanta. Before moving
to Atlanta, he held the same position at the Valley Forge
Marriott Suites in PA. He has recently been recognized by
Marriott for his "Superior Owner Relations" and
was recognized in 2002 by the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors
Bureau as "General Manager of the Year." and presently
serves as Treasurer.    |
The
new General Manager at the Hilton Hotel Parsippany, New Jersey
is GERALD BARRACK, a native of New Zealand
who began his twenty-year hospitality career as a management
trainee at the Regent of Auckland. Barrack re-joins Crestline
from Hyatt Hotels, where he was the General Manager of the
Hyatt Regency, Wichita since 1999. Prior to that position,
he was the Resident Manager at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott
in Norfolk, Virginia. He has held various positions with leading
hotels in the United Sates as well as Hawaii and Australia.
A graduate of the Barton School of Business in Wichita, Kansas,
and of the New Plymouth Boys High School in New Zealand, Barrack
was active in the civic and business community in Wichita.

MARY
KENNY,
has been promoted to Corporate Director of Marketing and Public
Relations for The Kessler Collection. She joined the company
in May 1999 as Corporate Director of Public Relations. In
this position, Mary oversees all aspects of the company's
public and community relations activities on local, national
and international levels as well as all marketing initiatives.
Kenny has been responsible for the pre- and post-opening and
operating public relations of eight of the nine hotels in
The Kessler Collection. She will now assume all of the marketing
responsibilities for The Kessler Collection and its hotel
properties and condominium developments. She is also a member
of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and serves on
the Florida Hospital Cancer Board and the Downtown Arts District
Board.  |

As
of September first the former Crowne Plaza Tampa West Shore,
will be renamed theQUORUM HOTEL. Mark Shire,
the Marketing Director, said the 272-room hotel will immediately
begin a $5 million renovation. Redecorating the lobby and
all rooms in an Old Florida theme will appeal to those seeking
a unique independent boutique property.

The
360-room HYATT REGENCY WIND WATCH LONG ISLAND,
formerly the Wyndham Wind Watch is located approximately 50
miles from Manhattan in Hauppauge, New York. Recently purchased
by Highland Hospitality the hotel will undergo a $10 million
renovation of guestrooms, meeting facilities, restaurant and
other common areas according to the Hyatt Regency brand standards.
The property caters to both business and leisure demand with
approximately 18,000 square feet of flexible meeting space
and a resort-like setting, including access to the adjacent
Hamlet Wind Watch Golf & Country Club. Other amenities
include indoor and outdoor pool facilities, a health club
