NEW! The Caribbean Tourism Organization's latest updates on hurricane recovery are as follows: Grand Cayman will tentatively reopen for business by Thanksgiving, with some properties opening before that. In the Dominican Republic, about 7,000 hotel rooms on the island's east coast were affected and most will be back on line within 45 days. Most resorts in Grenada are up and running for visitors while the hurricane-torn country begins to rebuild. Most of the hotels in the Turks & Caicos have reopened. Grenada Information.

FLORIDA KEYS

MIAMI BEACH

The legendary Eden Roc Renaissance Resort & Spa is welcoming leisure guests, business travelers and groups from all over the world. The resort closed briefly during this season's hurricanes due to mandatory evacuation, and narrowly escaped any damage. Our thoughts are with the people and tourism partners that have been impacted. SOUTH BEACH

Royal Palm Crowne Plaza Resort - Both our property and our Associates have not suffered any property or personal damage.

Shelborne Beach Resort - South Beach Thank you for caring and your concern. We are absolutely untouched and open for business. Send everyone to South Beach!

Palms South Beach and the National Hotel are fully up and running with no damage at all from the past hurricanes. Luckily both of our properties were un-harmed from Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne.

COCONUT GROVE

Wyndham Grand Bay - We are open for business and faired very well.

HOLLYWOOD - AVENTURA

Westin Diplomat - No damage, the resort is up and running.

Fairmont Turnberry, NEVER CLOSED is open for business. Although Hurricane Frances and Jeanne battered some of the Eastern coastline of Florida in September, Miami was spared and The Fairmont Turnberry Isle suffered no damage from the storms. With the exception of a few fallen palm fronds on the golf courses, the resort was operational immediately having no power loss throughout the storms. We look forward to welcoming visitors.

FORT LAUDERDALE

The Radisson Bahia Mar Beach Resort - becoming the Bahia Mar Beach Resort on January 1, 2005 - sustained no damage to the resort, our yachting center or any yachts. Ownership and management will be unchanged within the Boca Resorts portfolio. The Fort Lauderdale Boat Show goes on.

Did you hear what happened to Greater Fort Lauderdale during the hurricanes? Absolutely NOTHING! The Sheraton Ft. Lauderdale Airport Hotel is open. We did not have any damage to the hotel from the hurricanes. We are operating business as usual.

Please be advised that Howard Johnson Plaza Resort was very fortunate and not only we did not suffer any damage but we had power at all times. Reopened on Sunday,September 26th.

The Holiday Inn Select and Homewood Suites by Hilton in Fort Myers are both open and operating a full capacity. Tell the world we are still open, and one of the best places in this great state to vacation or to meet!!!

Closed were the Tarpon Lodge Sportsman Inn in North Fort Myers, the Collier Inn and Cottages on Useppa Island, the Safety Harbor Club on North Captiva Island and the South Seas Resort and Yacht Harbor on Captiva Island.

MARCO ISLAND

Marco Island Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa. We are just as beautiful as ever here – we were spared from any severe damage from Hurricane Charley and the other storms did not affect us except for some rainy and blustery days. Don’t forget we now have new air service to Naples!

The Hilton Naples & Towers has no damage and has been open.We were one of the lucky ones.

Naples, Marco Island and the Everglades, known as Florida's "Paradise Coast(SM)" shows no evidence of any hurricane. All of the area's hotels, resorts, beaches, golf courses and attractions are open, with no debris or damage along the area's white sandy beaches or the natural wilderness of the Everglades. JACKSONVILLE

Omni Jacksonville, we are open for business as usual, with NO damage. In fact we are currently doing a 4.5 million dollar renovation on our hotel and never skipped a day of work from our schedule. Please send people our way!!!!

AMELIA ISLAND

It's business as usual at Amelia Island Plantation located just 29 miles northeast of Jacksonville. The 1,350-acre resort had no significant damage occur as a result of any of this year's storms, most recently Hurricane Jeanne. Mother Nature chose to spare our little island paradise and for that we are very grateful! Our championship golf courses are intact and beaches are just as beautiful as ever. Gaylord Palms Resort...and the Orlando tourism community as a whole, is open - business as usual - and ready to serve.

Rosen Plaza. Yes, we are open for business with no damage. In fact we did not sustain any damage from any of the hurricanes - thank goodness. A few trees down, that is all. If you know of any hotels that are closed and looking to place the business somewhere else, we have availability through the end of the year.

The Radisson University Hotel Orlando is open for business. We currently have a few rooms we are working on to get back in order and is projected to be completed by week of October 4th.

Sheraton Suites Orlando Airport We are fully operational, open 24/7. Thanks for allowing us to update our status.

Orlando, Tampa and Saint Petersburg/Clearwater were spared the full effects of all four recent hurricanes and, as a result, sustained no substantial or lasting damage. According to the CVB’s representing Orlando, Tampa and St. Petersburg/Clearwater, all attractions, beaches and event
facilities in these three tourist destinations are open as they were prior to the storms and are welcoming visitors. In addition, all airports, cruise terminals and roadways are open and operating as normal.

Panama City Beach tourism officials report that hotels, attractions, the airport and beaches are open for business and ready for visitors after sustaining minimal damage from Hurricane Ivan. The Hathaway Bridge from Panama City to Panama City Beach and all roads leading to the area are open. www.thebeachloversbeach.com.

DESTIN TO PENSACOLA

The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is back in business. We were very fortunate and did not sustain very much damage. Our beaches are still here and we welcome everyone to visit! www.sandestinbeachhilton.comThe Ramada Plaza Beach Resort in Fort Walton Beach is set to reopen Nov. 15.

ADDITIONAL HURRICANE INFORMATION GATHERED THROUGH PRESS RELEASES

Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa in Point Clear Alabama (near Mobile) has re-opened after sustaining minimal damage from Hurricane Ivan.

Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts’ properties in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic have had only minor damages. The Paradisus Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic was the most affected, reporting some minor flooding in some of its buildings and having to empty out its pool due to all the dirt and mud that ran into the pool during Jeanne. And although most of the area was without electricity, the guests of the Paradisus Puerto Rico never felt the effects as its generator provided power to all rooms and main buildings in the hotel. The cleanup continues with relief efforts gaining momentum for the islands most impacted by the storms.

CAYMAN ISLANDS

George Town is functioning again with some electricity running and phone service, banks and gas stations and some stores are open. Water has been turned on for several hours each day however many parts of the island are still without the basics.

Schduled to open Dec. 14, the new Ritz-Carlton on Seven Mile Beach survived intact without a single window broken and has projected a new opening date of late spring 2005. Fortunately, the major resorts were left relatively intact. The 309-room Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort will reopen Oct. 15; the 136-room Courtyard Grand Cayman, Oct. 1; the 336-room Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa, Nov. 1; and the 289-room Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman, Dec. 1. No reopening dates have been announced by other properties.

GRENADA

On the hotel front, Bel Air Plantation will reopen by early November; Calabash Hotel remains closed until Oct. 30 for its previously scheduled pool suites remodeling; Flamboyant Hotel will reopen Dec. 20 with 36 of its 61 rooms, and its one- and two-bedroom units will reopen next spring; LaSource suffered only minimal roof damage, but is closed except for emergency personnel; Rex Grenadian is closed until mid-December.

JAMAICA

In Montego Bay, Holiday Inn SunSpree reopens Oct. 1; in Negril, Beachcomber reopens Nov. 15; Beaches Negril Beach Resort & Spa, Oct. l; Beaches Sandy Bay, Oct. 28; Grand Lido Negril Resort & Spa, Oct. 15; Mariner’s Inn, remains closed; Merril’s Beach Resort, Oct 3; Merril’s Beach Resort III, Dec. 1; Sandals Negril Beach Resort & Spa, Nov. 18; Sea Splash, remains closed; Tensing Pen, remains closed. In Runaway Bay, FDR reopens Oct. 9. On the South Fern Hill Club and Goblin Hilcoast, Jakes, Treasure Beach and Strawberry Hill are closed until further notice. l in Port Antonio are closed until further notice. In Ocho Rios, Sunset Jamaica Grande is closed for scheduled renovations and will reopen Dec. 19.

HAITI

More than 1,000 people lost their lives, primarily in the northwestern coastal city of Gonaives. Port au Prince, the capital, was unaffected by the storm. Relief efforts have been slowed by waterlogged roads and security concerns.
