The Caribbean Tourism Organization's latest updates
on hurricane recovery are as follows: Grand Cayman will tentatively
reopen for business by Thanksgiving, with some properties opening
before that. In the Dominican Republic, about 7,000 hotel rooms
on the island's east coast were affected and most will be back on
line within 45 days. Most resorts in Grenada are up and running
for visitors while the hurricane-torn country begins to rebuild.
Most of the hotels in the Turks & Caicos have reopened. Grenada

BEACH
The legendary Eden
Roc Renaissance Resort & Spa is welcoming leisure
guests, business travelers and groups from all over the world.
The resort closed briefly during this season's hurricanes due
to mandatory evacuation, and narrowly escaped any damage. Our
thoughts are with the people and tourism partners that have been
impacted. The Roc is everything Retro...Evoke a time
past with poolside cabanas for day rental or spa treatments, Pez
and Mary Jane candies for turn-down, 60's Trivial Pursuit at check-in,
afternoon lemonade and cookies poolside, signature cocktails,
and themed group or social catering events where you can sip martinis
with the Rat Pack and stay in the Nat King Cole or Elizabeth Taylor
specialty suite.

ADDITIONAL
HURRICANE INFORMATION GATHERED THROUGH PRESS RELEASES
Grand Hotel
Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa
in Point Clear Alabama (near Mobile) has re-opened after sustaining
minimal damage from Hurricane Ivan.
Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts’ properties
in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic have had only minor
damages. The Paradisus Punta Cana in the Dominican
Republic was the most affected, reporting some minor flooding
in some of its buildings and having to empty out its pool due
to all the dirt and mud that ran into the pool during Jeanne.
And although most of the area was without electricity, the guests
of the Paradisus Puerto Rico never felt the effects as its generator
provided power to all rooms and main buildings in the hotel. The
cleanup continues with relief efforts gaining momentum for the
islands most impacted by the storms.
