Click to view WebsiteSIX CONTINENTS HOTELS, INC., announced on Friday it is eliminating all cancellation penalties and change fees at its company managed and owned hotels in the North America for customers who cancel or change a hotel stay on or before midnight on March 26, 2003. This policy covers reservations for stays with an arrival date no later than April 3, 2003 and the company will continue to monitor the situation and adjust its policy as necessary. "We have developed solid relationships with many of our guests over the years, and we want to ensure that we look after them during this troubled time," said Tom Seddon, senior vice president, brand strategy, for Six Continents Hotels - Americas. "Implementing a cancellation policy to waive fees is the right thing to do, and does not penalize our guests for events that are out of their control." Planners---An individual who is part of a group block can cancel without incurring fees for him or herself, or for the group. As of right now, cancellation and attrition fees for group cancellations have only been dropped by InterContinental Hotels. However, Six Continents has strongly recommended to all its brands that they accept the same policy as InterContinental Hotels. Guests must call the hotel directly in order to not be penalized for the cancellation or change of travel date. This policy does not apply to guests who do not show without canceling with the hotel beforehand.
